The Transportation Security Administration has begun a program called TSA Pre?™
that allows some passengers who are deemed “low-risk” to take advantage of accelerated, more efficient security screenings at participating U.S. airports.

Travelers approved for TSA Pre?™ will not have to remove belts, shoes, light jackets and laptops from carry-ons which will allow them to move through the security screening more quickly, improving their travel experience.

In April the John Wayne Orange County Airport started taking applications for the TSA Pre?™. Those interested in applying for the program can complete an online pre-enrollment application at and then visit an application center in person to provide the remaining information including fingerprints, identity and citizenship/immigration documentation and payment of $85 for a five-year membership.

Once applicants are approved for the program they will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) and will be able to use the TSA Pre?™ lines at participating airports.

For more information about the program contact the John Wayne Airport or visit the TSA’s official site.
